The EWWR aims to inform large numbers of European citizens about the simple actions that they can take in everyday life to help contribute to waste reduction efforts.
It is a three year project supported by the LIFE+ Programme of the European Commission until 2011. The aim is to raise awareness, promote sustainable waste reduction actions across Europe, highlight best practice examples and encourage changes in behavior.
The week targets public authorities across Europe, and engage them in carrying out awareness raising actions on the subject of waste prevention.
