This is a very positive initiative. I am the Chief Environmental Officer at UNIFIL in South Lebanon. The Environmental Management Unit (EMU) that I am hounored to supervice is trying hard to reduce the missio's foot print by conserving energy, increasing the use of renewable energy and insuring environmentla compliance throughout the area of operation in south Lebanon. I am applying to become a Green Champion to participate in your nobel cause.

This is an awesome initiative by UN. So many of us already have this desire, to utilize less and save things where we can. With this initiative, they can now connect with like minded people and put ideas, thoughts and wishes into action!!
