CO2 Balloon highlights carbon footprints

Tue, 31/01/12

A massive balloon, over 10-metres-high, was erected outside UN Headquarters in New York last week.  The eye-catching balloon represents a single tonne of CO2 and has been created to draw attention to the quantities of CO2 produced per person, per year.

The balloon is part of a project co-sponsored by the Government of Chile and the United Nations and bears the Greening the Blue logo, the website which communicates the UN's campaign to manage it's own sustainability performance.
