5 October 2020 Saving Energy, One Blanket at a Time

UNDP Bhutan has provided blankets to keep its staff warm at work as temperatures dip. This effort is the latest in a series of office-wide initiatives being taken to reduce our carbon footprint.

UNDP Bhutan’s efforts to reduce energy consumption and heating and cooling costs include replacement of panel heaters with AC inverter system this summer.

It helped cut down energy use significantly. An assessment done by its operations team showed that with the installation of AC inverter system, the energy consumption is 4.5 times less.

Other recent initiatives include ensuring no bottled water is served at UNDP organized workshops, meetings or events as part of our zero plastic waste efforts.
